Easy, enjoyable fiction. I like the lack of violence for violence's sake, rudeness as the norm within families. I like people struggling with their everyday lives and caring and helping each other. Its not saccharin, it is realistic. Carr's insights into human relations, her character development and lovely brush strokes in making the place come to life are appreciated. This is not stellar literature, it is simply a really good read.

I enjoy reading a series as the familiar characters are fun to read about in this Oregon town. I can picture the beautiful view of the ocean and feel like I am body surfing and relaxing too. Of course Cooper, the owner of the bar and grill and his girlfriend who is a coast guard helicopter pilot are back too. It is nice to see strong women featured. Lots of new problems with the return of ex spouses etc. Intriigue and teen problems addressed too.
